A new market for compute — early access

ComputeSDK Market connects providers selling compute capacity with buyers set a bid price. Jobs fill at the cheapest live rate — or route to your own providers.

Today we're opening early access to ComputeSDK Market — a market for compute, built into the platform your workloads already run on.

Providers have idle compute. Buyers pay retail price from their existing provider. Nothing connects the buyer to the seller: if you wanted additional capacity or a cheaper rate, you negotiate with a provider or find another one. If you are a provider with spare capacity, your only option is to increase usage.

ComputeSDK Market is the missing piece.

How it works for buyers

  1. Set the max price you want to pay (per second).
  2. Add ComputeSDK Market to your routing logic alongside the providers you already use.

When a job dispatches, placement looks at every live listing on the market and fills on the cheapest one at or under your cap. You pay the listed rate, never your ceiling. And if nothing on the market fits your price, the job simply walks on to your own providers — the same ordered fallback that already exists today.

The worst case is the status quo. Adding the market to your order doesn't slow a run down or strand it — it will only find it a cheaper option.

You can set the cap once in the platform, or per dispatch from the CLI:

$ compute actions dispatch acme/api --workflow test --max-bid 0.00005
dispatched run_01K7ZP9M
placed on market $0.0000333/sec

One prepaid balance covers every provider on the market — no separate accounts, keys, or invoices per provider.

How it works for sellers

Sellers on the market are the compute providers themselves.

  1. A provider adds their credentials.
  2. Lists spare capacity at its own per-second rate.
  3. Jobs land on its infrastructure.

Nobody resells anyone else's compute — it's your infra, your price.

$ compute market credential connect northscale
connected northscale ••••7c1b

$ compute market sell --price 0.0000333 --per second
live standard $0.0000333/sec ≈ $0.12/hr

Listings pause, resume, or withdraw whenever you want. Fills run on your own key, so capacity stays under your control end to end. The console shows your listings, every sale, and settlements with gross, platform fee, and your net — exportable for payout.

Bill by the second, minute, hour, or day

Everything on the market is metered per second — and prices can be expressed in whatever unit makes sense for the conversation: $0.0000333/sec, ≈ $0.12/hr, or a daily rate. The platform normalizes it.

Per-second granularity is what makes a compute market honest. You only pay for the seconds that ran.

Early access — both sides

This is early access, on both sides of the market.

If you buy compute, request access inside the platform — tell us what you'd run and which providers you use today, and we'll give your org access. If you're a provider with capacity to sell, the same page has a sell-side form — tell us who you are and what you'd bring, and we'll onboard you. Provider onboarding is hands-on by design: identities are assigned so sellers really are who they say.

See the market or sign in and request access.
