The Maui Invitational for AI sandbox scaling.
Just like the legendary Maui Invitational brings together elite college basketball programs for intense, high-stakes competition, ComputeSDK is launching the 2026 Scale Invitational — an open invite benchmark showdown designed to reveal which sandbox providers can truly handle massive concurrency.
This first-of-its-kind event will push participants to spin up and sustain 100,000 concurrent sandboxes under real production-like conditions on June 1st, 2026. Want to stay in the loop? RSVP below.
Why the Scale Invitational Matters
Cold-start benchmarks are useful, but they only tell part of the story. As AI agents, code interpreters, and large-scale testing workloads grow, the real differentiator is scaling performance under extreme load. The Scale Invitational delivers transparent, head-to-head data where it matters most.
What We’re Testing
Every participant runs the same rigorous, reproducible workload:
- Scale to 100,000 concurrent sandboxes
- Cold-start latency (p50, p95, p99)
- Success rate
Results will be published openly with permanent 2026 results pages for the entire developer community.
Who Can Participate
The 2026 Scale Invitational is an open invite to leading sandbox companies.
We’ve already started inviting consistent top performers from our Benchmark Friday series. We’re also opening the floor to the community.
Do you know a company that should compete?
Reply to this post on X and cc/tag them directly. If they’re interested, they can reach out to us and we’ll coordinate all of the details from there.
Built on Transparency
This event continues ComputeSDK’s core philosophy: no pay-to-play, no cherry-picked results — just raw, apples-to-apples data so developers can make informed infrastructure choices.
What’s Next
- Participant invitations and acceptances in the coming weeks
- June 1st, 2026: The Scale Invitational testing day and results reveal
- Full methodology and deep-dive analysis published shortly after
Whether you’re a provider ready to prove your scaling muscle or a developer who wants real data before choosing a platform, stay tuned.
The Scale Invitational is coming — and it will separate the contenders from the true champions.
