Namespace × ComputeSDK: Performance Cloud Partner

Namespace

The high-performance dev platform running all of our benchmarks.

Purpose-built for fast coding, build, and test environments with Apple M5/Windows/Linux devboxes, native macOS/iOS builds, and a drop-in GitHub Actions replacement built on infrastructure Namespace owns end-to-end.

Hey there —

Benchmark Fridays are a high-stakes situation for us. Our large-scale events even more so.

Every Friday we publicly release our benchmark runs across several categories and dozens of participants. It's a lot of fun, but in the short time we've been doing this we've learned some hard lessons.

Because so many companies rely on us for accurate information, we can't afford any failure points.

That's where Namespace, the high-performance dev platform, became an obvious choice for us. Namespace isn't just reliable — they're known for high-performance compute environments, and we take full advantage of that.

What sets Namespace apart is that they rack and stack all of their own infrastructure, which means they can fine-tune your runners. For instance, many providers cap network bandwidth on runners. You won't feel that when you're building Docker images. You absolutely feel it when you're benchmarking an object storage system.

So Namespace worked tirelessly to tune our runners to the exact specs we needed — uncapped network, in our case. Most providers won't do this. GitHub Actions gives you what's in the catalog, and the catalog doesn't even tell you what your network ceiling is. But because Namespace is vertically integrated down to the hardware, it's routine for them.

If you're like us and your environment has to be exact — not close enough, exact — use Namespace.
